Review by Pete MacKay, Hood River

After problems with my left foot became nearly unbearable, I saw a podiatrist through my healthcare provider. This resulted in mostly useless general advice. I'd known Mark and his business through friends so decided that couldn't hurt (pardon the pun). Mark's examination and methods far exceeded the simple x-ray and (mis)diagnosis of arthritis by my doctor. We discovered my left foot is smaller and arch more cavernous, and either my left leg is longer, hip out of rotation, or both (which I'm having examined by a specialist soon). After nearly a month of using Footworx orthotics for my bike and running shoes, and performing the massages and therapies Mark showed me, my hammer toes have straightened out(!), and the pain is progressively subsiding. (Improved "proprioception" is the term Mark introduced to me). I'm wearing prototype orthotic sliders that Mark is developing, will have him make me custom orthotics for my Nordic boots in the fall, and help me get the right Alpine boots this winter. It has been well worth the investment, and I wish I'd looked into it long ago.
